Welcome to World Cup Skills: a literacy, language and numeracy skills project inspired by SkillsActive with the help of a number of partners.
The World Cup Skills project is to promote literacy and numeracy, using the power of football to engage young people and adults across the UK. The 2010 FIFA World Cup is a unique opportunity to hook fans, social players, football club staff and volunteers in football into brushing up their literacy language and numeracy skills.
Log in everyday and join in the fun, participate in the daily first and second half quiz questions and daily challenges, read the quote of the day and learn interesting facts and figures about the World Cup tournaments, teams and players over the decades.
Win great prizes!
Enter the competitions and win prizes like tickets to matches and signed memorabilia. Pass the web link on to your colleagues, friends, family and fellow footballers and get them all to join in the fun.

As a Sector Skills Council, promoting literacy and numeracy skills is essential to the work of SkillsActive with the sport sector. You can find out more about our work with literacy and numeracy skills, or other work that we do, on our website – www.skillsactive.com.
This project has been developed in partnership with The FA, The Prince’s Trust, Active Communities, National Literacy Trust, Podium, Street League and Sportiv8. League Football Education and British Colleges Sport are also key supporters.
“Active Communities Network are delighted to support this important initiative. We will use this tool to raise awareness around numeracy and literacy for the young people that attend our sports based activities during the World Cup”.
Richard Leahy, Director Active Communities
